The Story

Nomos Glashutte Watch Orion 1989 33mm Sapphire Crystal 326. East Germany existed for 40 years, and it has been 25 years since the Monday demonstrations in Leipzig, which contributed towards the collapse of the state, began. Times have changed since then, in both Leipzig and Glashutte, and beautifully so. The watchmakers at NOMOS Glashutte believe this is something to celebrate. We craft watches here according to the most modern standards, watches that are so good that they cannot be improved on, says Uwe Ahrendt, born and bred in Glashutte and NOMOS CEO. East there, West here: There is nowhere better in the world to produce fine timepieces than here in Glashutte, with a long tradition of skilled craftsmanship. NOMOS Glashutte has demonstrated just how fine its timepieces can be with a new special edition: Orion 1989, produced to celebrate 25 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall. This version of the classic in an elegant November gray with golden indexes and hands, in 33 and 38 millimeter diameters, is a watch for women as well as men.
